Gregory Braylovsky was once one of the top junior players in the country, as he competed in the US Junior Closed on two occasions. He is a good practical player, as he makes natural moves quickly and confidently, however he lacks some experience and doesn't study openings much because he is busy focusing on school, hence this handicap has made it hard for him to leap from 2400 to the 2500 range. Because of this he tries to play openings that suit one who is not too booked up, such as 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cd4 4.Qd4. When in time trouble he has the ability to move very quickly as he has played a lot of 1 minute chess in his time.
