Jonathan Corbblah
Jonathan Corbblah has made the list of masters by having a
fantastic result in the NY Masters after qualifying via the
Thursday Night Action. In the first round he was paired with
Jay Bonin and knocked him off. He hit a roadbump in Stripunsky
but then finished the event by beating Boris Privman and drawing
with Rafal Furdzik. Jonathan is well known for his extreme shyness.
He will almost never talk unless spoken to and takes winning
and losing as graciously as anyone you could ever meet. Corbblah’s
chess style on the other hand is the complete opposite. He attacks
with reckless abandon and barely knows the meaning of the words
“positional chess”. His only goal is to checkmate you and he
will throw all his pieces at you until there are either none
left of it’s checkmate.
Below is a famous Corbblah quote
"There are two types of sacrafices. There are correct
sacrafices and there are MY sacrafices."
