FM Lewis Eisen M.D.
Dr. Lewis Eisen is a very sharp player. He is always difficult to play because he always has a puncher’s chance, as he favors interesting, attacking formations. When he is on the attack his tremendous imagination comes to the forefront. He is famous for probably the fastest queen fiancheto in the history of chess. In the game Eisen – J.Shahade the moves were 1.e4 c5 2.b3 b6 3.d4 cd4 4.Qd4 Nc6 5.Qb2!?!?. One of Lew’s problems is that he has a hard time putting his dynamic skills to the side and just playing normal moves as can be seen from the above game. However he has taken out a lot of strong GMs including such players as Yudasin and Shabalov. When you pair him up with the strong technical GM’s, such as Wojtkiewicz and Novikov, he has serious problems. If he can overcome this he should be able to regain his 2400 rating. Below is an example of his attacking flair GM Leonid Yudasin - FM Lewis Eisen, 8th New York Masters [Annotated by FM Lewis Eisen]
